Hiro I.

Japanese Instructor

Hello, my name is Hironori. You can call me Hiro! I am a native Japanese speaker who grew up in Yokohama, Japan for more than 20 years. I came to love America through watching American hero films and it inspired me to come to the U.S. to study. After getting my degree at college, I got married and lived in the US, where I started teaching Japanese to students with their own unique interests and goals.

In my lessons, I’d like to involve the things that spark your interest (like the American hero movies did for me) because I feel that it is really important to be able to have curiosity and passion in your learning. This will help you go a lot farther in your journey to master Japanese and make the class much more effective than just reading from textbooks.

In your first class with me, come prepared to talk about things you like. Whether it’s games, comics, food, music, or anything else, I want to know what sparks your interest, so that we can focus on those things to make our next lessons fun and interesting.

In my free time, I enjoy creating digital paintings, reading books, watching movies, and playing video games and walking to the local park with my family.

I am looking forward to meeting with you soon!
