Hallo! I was born and raised in Germany and moved to the U.S. in my late teens. I recently graduated with my Ph.D. in Germanic Languages, Literatures, and Cultures as well as my M.Ed. in Instructional Design and Technology with a focus on Teaching. Throughout my academic career, I have been fortunate enough to travel back to Germany and other German-speaking countries to conduct research, teach, and visit family. Being a heritage speaker, pursuing my higher education goals, and years of teaching, I have gained extensive knowledge what it means to not only teach the German language, but also the ability to convey the uniqueness and beauty of the culture. At the moment, I reside in Northern Kentucky where I am able to utilize my skills as both an instructional designer and educator. If I had to describe myself in three words, I would say that I am reliable, passionate, and dedicated. I believe there is no “one size fits all” approach and my teaching style is, therefore, relaxed and flexible in order to adapt to each student’s individual needs and interests. I am excited to share my love of the German language and culture with you and to help you succeed in reaching your language learning goals.
