Nancy J.
Greetings! I am a Deaf native of Cleveland, Ohio. I have been an educator for almost 16 years and I achieved earning a M.A. in Special Education. My teaching experience spans from primary school to the collegiate level. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, shopping, traveling, and spending time with dear family and friends. American Sign Language is literally my life—and education is an extension of who I am. The combination of ASL and education was instilled in me at the toddler stage. During that time, I was selected as the National Poster Child for the Deaf. As I stood in the White House with President Ronald Reagan and my loving father, I knew assisting those with special needs, like myself, was my calling. I have worked tirelessly to accomplish just that. I am passionate about teaching academic courses in American Sign Language and History of Deaf Culture. I love to introduce students to the gift of sign language. I cannot wait to pass my passion for learning on to you! The life of a teacher: thoughtful, reflective, persistent, and dedicated.
