This Spaniard show focus on the complex and detailed plan for a heist to rob the Royal Mint of Spain, filled with intergroup drama, hostages, police incursion & much, much more. It is an intense journey through the planning and execution, with each episode offering more to the long story. 

3) La Casa de las Flores (The House of Flowers)

La Casa de las Flores is a dark comedy/drama that focuses on the problems and relationships of an upper-class family in Mexico. The family works not only to run an extremely famous floristry shop but maintain a social image of perfection to ensure their status within Mexican society.

4) Siempre Una Bruja (Always a Witch)

Based on Yo, bruja by Isidora Chacón, Siempre Una Bruja follows the story of Carmen Eguiluz, an enslaved person who fell in love with a white man during a time when this was punishable by burning at the stake. However, Carmen is secretly a witch, taking a deal with an old wizard in which she would transport to a time when no one believed in witches, the modern-day. This story takes place in Cartagena, Colombia, and offers a great look into life in the coastal city.

5) Chicas del Cable (Cable Girls)

If you are looking for a significant period piece, Chicas del Cable is for you. Taking place in the first national telephone company in 1920s Spain, Chicas del Cable follows the story of four “cable girls” from different backgrounds. The show offers a great look into the fight for equality within Spain and just being an entertaining show filled to the brim with drama.

6) Nuevo Rico, Nuevo Pobre (New Rich, New Poor)

While so many modern shows seem to reign supreme on Netflix, you can never go wrong with a classic telenovela like Nuevo Rico, Nuevo Pobre. Taking place in the late 2000s in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, Nuevo Rico, Nuevo Pobre follows the story of two boys who were swapped at birth, one rich and one poor. After their parents discover this secret and determine the men have gone down the wrong paths, they switch their lives completely, rich to poor and poor to rich.

7) Monarca

Monarca follows the story of Monarca, a billion-dollar tequila company’s scandal and violence stemming from the corruption of Mexico’s business elites. After a sudden event at the beginning of the story, it is left to the owner’s three children to successfully run the business, with each child’s path towards success constantly battling one another. 

8) La Reina Del Flow (The Queen of Flow)

To round this list off is La Reina del Flow, the perfect mix of a more classic telenovela style but with modern filmmaking. La Reina del Flow follows the story of Yeimy Montoya, an upcoming songwriter who was wrongly imprisoned. Seeking revenge after the murder of her parents, the story focuses on drama and action, the lives of those living in the Communal of Medellin, and the story of up-and-coming artists in Colombia.
